Greetings dear Chroniclers,
I have a treat for you! It's a scene I didn't get to write in book 2. It was so fun to put it into words, finally! Any guesses on who the characters are?
Seizing the scruff fur at the back of the kitsune's neck, the oni woman spat, "You kept me in slavery for centuries and now you pay!"
But the fox only yipped something unintelligible in the creature's language, unable to free herself from the oni's grasp.
What happened to the conniving vixen? She always used to scream as if she owned the world. This time, she didn't.
Click. The kitsune only had one tail. She'd been stripped of magic. "Dammit!" Shrieking, the oni tossed the vixen aside as she strode toward the den. "The kami won't rob me of my vengeance! I'll take it out on your kin!"
The fox limped over to block the oni. Growling defiance, she stood her ground to buy precious seconds for her clan. She'd done her best to warn them.
I've added more to my Spooktober page since the last newsletter and will keep adding to it throughout the month. Need more?
Take me to the Spooktober stories, snippets, and art!
Our ferrets love to hide when they sleep. Puffy sleep sacks are their favorite.
SHRIMP UPDATE: The bigger tank is almost cycled! (<- Meaning that the tank won't have ammonia and nitrite swings because there are beneficial bacteria in there that eat it) Soon we'll have a bigger home for the cherry and Amano shrimp! The cherry shrimp are now "legion". (Alas, I know they can't multiply indefinitely.)
Do you all want to see shrimp pictures too? (Shrimp are a little bug-like. So instead of putting a picture in the newsletter, I'll include a link to a photo, for those who want to see them.)
Due to the upcoming trip, the holidays, the writing challenges in November, and more, I've decided to wait to make any more updates (after the Oct. 16 one) to Books Gateway until January. Though I will still share free book offers in my newsletters. Speaking of...
I'll also only have 1 newsletter for each of November and December.
These temporary changes will give me a little more time to breathe. I can't wait to share some of the trip highlights with you!
